Beyond Book Reports & Trailers - Technology in the Classroom

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

English is often one of the last places students are likely to have hands-on learning experiences involving technology that goes beyond wordprocessing. This workshop will provide participants with a tool-kit of easily adapted activities which can be used to engage students in relevant learning activities which incorporate technology (in English and other content areas).

Participants will engage in media analysis, view student samples (video, Wikki, online discussion boards, and more), see how Google Chrome books i-pads, and Google drive have been used in the English classroom, and view other examples of how technology can be used in a relevant manner to engage students in the classroom.

A variety of online tools (wikkis, discussion boards, surveys, polls, audacity, quizlet, and more) will be presented, along with student work examples, and participants will engage in a media literacy activity which can be used with students.

Each participant will leave with a packet of resources, which can be used with students.
